Critics consider Andrés Thor to be one of the finest Icelandic jazz guitarists of his generation. His music combines the eloquence of the guitar-led jazz tradition with a zesty, rock-imbued drive. On “Ypsilon,” his 5th album as a leader, he presents original compositions that blend his positively ambrosial tonal palette with elegant harmonic substance and incisive, ornamented cross-rhythms. The album features collaborators from Denmark, Iceland and the renowned drum virtuoso Ari Hoenig, from the U.S.A.
Andrés began his musical studies at age 12 in his hometown Hafnarfjordur, a little harbour town nearby Reykjavík, Iceland. At first, his influences were glitter rock and hippie rock bands such as Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, and Bon Jovi. Andres first heard the music of John Coltrane and Pat Metheny while in his teens, leading him to be fascinated with jazz music. Soon, he started studying with some of Iceland's finest jazz educators at the FIH music school. After graduating, his musical quest brought him to study at the Koninklijk Conservatorium (The Royal Conservatory) in The Hague, The Netherlands in the year 2000. Andres finished his BM in spring 2004, and his Master's degree in the spring of 2006. In Holland, Andres studied under the guidance of Wim Bronnenberg, Peter Nieuwerf, Eef Albers, John Ruocco and Hein v/d Geyn as his main teachers. He also attended workshops and masterclasses led by musicians such as Michael Brecker, Kurt Rosenwinkel, John Abercrombie and Avishai Cohen, as well as performing at a concert held in the City Hall in The Hague, with the late great Michael Brecker and the Royal Conservatory big band.
Living and studying in the Netherlands led to the first CD featuring Andrés as a co-leader — It Was a Very Good Year (WW&T 2004), by the organ trio, Wijnen, Winter & Thor, and featured songs by Andrés and organ player Bob Wijnen, in addition to a collectively composed piece by the trio.
Since then, Andrés has been working in and out of Iceland, and has released five albums under his own name. He has also released a handful of albums in collaboration. Andrés has been active in various collective projects, and as a sideman with bands like ASA trio, Icewegian, The Viking Giant Show, BonSom, Andreas Dreier quartet, and Music with Z, to name a few. Andres Thor has been an active performer and educator in Iceland, and has performed in Scandinavia, Europe and the USA. He continues to perform as a session musician in studios, at concerts, and in theater productions, where he doubles on mandolin, banjo and steel guitars.

I take great pride in my tone and my Eastman Uptown has been delivering for years. I like a vintage archtop tone with no effects into a tough solid state amp (Polytone). The guitar is clean and full, with the perfect amount of high end, which is the key to that classic 60′s jazz guitar sound.
My new T146 is remarkable. It delivers that true archtop tone which is the heart of my sound, from my solo work to Freddie Green-style big band rhythm playing. Every time I play it I fall in love again with the bright, punchy tone, and expert craftsmanship.
New York City based jazz guitarist Charlie Apicella is the founder of IRON CITY.
Charlie Apicella was voted onto the 84th annual DownBeat Readers Poll for Guitar.
He has performed concerts and recorded with jazz legends Dave Holland, Sonny Fortune, and John Blake, Jr. as well as contemporary masters Joe Magnarelli, Vic Juris, Dave Stryker, Don Braden, and Jon Herington of Steely Dan.
He began his music training by studying composition and improvisation with Yusef Lateef and music history with Archie Shepp.
In 2014 Charlie was invited by Pat Martino to study improvisation, composition, and Pat’s unique method for learning the mechanics of the guitar.
What Others Have to Say About Charlie:
“A deeply melodic guitarist along the lines of Grant Green. Apicella faithfully has sought to channel an era of American music when hard-bop and r&b reigned...But the guitarist still manages to keep things fresh.” MATTHEW KASSEL, DownBeat
"As a player, Apicella immediately brings to mind Grant Green. He’s funky, he’s bluesy, and he’s not afraid to get dirty at times." JOHN HEIDT, Vintage Guitar Magazine
"Apicella's playing shines...[he] is aware of the straight-ahead tradition, showcasing his Wes Montgomery influence...Apicella's guitar sound is bright and clean, and easily cuts through the huge sound of the organ." TIM FISCHER, Just Jazz Guitar Magazine
"I think you will find that "SPARKS" will light the artistic fires of the soul and intellect." Heartfully, Yusef Lateef

Performing full time with Grammy nominated band Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen, Chris switches seamlessly from international music to jazz, rock, bluegrass and country comfortably. He has even studied Brazilian Jazz with Seattle based Brazil music legend, Jovino Santos Neto.
Chris’ musicianship reflects the multitude of musical influences he turns to for inspiration. His acoustic guitar playing really stands out, but this virtuosic, multi-instrumentalist is equally at home playing mandolin, drums, bass, electric guitar, banjo, and Greek bouzouki!
In addition, Chris has found himself performing onstage with the likes of Jerry Douglas, Emmylou Harris, Rob Ickes, The Steep Canyon Rangers, Alison Brown and Garry West, The Boxcars, Bobby Osborne, Yogi and The Yogini’s, and many others.

Producer, guitarist, and songwriter for the legendary rock band Heart, Craig's playing adds a unique and exciting energy to Heart's music. He has also worked with Blondie, Madonna, Nikki Sixx, and Simply Red, among others.

Melodic guitarist dee Brown presents his brand new track "Love You Too" which is the third single from "Deep Secrets", his forthcoming album on premiere smooth jazz label Innervision Records.
"Love You Too" features dee on rhythm and lead guitars, Valdez Brantley on piano, keyboards and programming, Darryl Williams on bass, and Tony Moore on drums. The track is mixed by label mate Blake Aaron.
A refrain of great importance, perhaps now more than ever. "Love You Too" is a common reply and a fitting title to this melodic call and response track, mixed by multiple #1 hit maker Blake Aaron. As one of the world's best kept secrets, Guitarist, Songwriter, Arranger, Producer & Vocalist dee Brown is definitely one for whom you will take notice! He demonstrates a sense of character that comes from deep spirituality and presents a musical entrée that is appetizing and sweet.
“Love You Too” follows two recent successful singles: “Smooth Talk” and “The Prize”, also from the forthcoming album “Deep Secrets”.
The single, “Honeycomb” from dee’s album, "Brown Sugar, Honey-Coated Love" is a tasty treat for jazz lovers. Foundationally inspired by Proverbs 27:7 which says, “A satisfied soul loathes the honeycomb, but to a hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.” dee offers satisfying music that is so often missing from today’s musical landscape. His second single "Natural Love" received lots of radio air play with multiple chart positioning with a solid spot in the top 15 on the Groove Jazz Chart.
His third single, "I'm Here for you (I'll never leave you)" was well received and is in the top 100 Smooth Jazz single of 2015. If that's not enough, he ended 2015 on a high note by releasing an original Christmas song, entitled "It's Christmas" written and performed by his late fiancé Shaunia Edwards, Arnell Carmichael, Valdez Brantley and dee Brown
Possessing a solid musical background, dee has performed or shared the stage with artists such as: Al Jarreau, Gerald Albright, Alexander Zonjic, Bob Baldwin, Mindi Abair, Jessy J, Paul Brown, Paul Taylor, Darren Rahn, Tim Bowman, Randy Scott, Gail Jhonson, Nate Harasim, Bob James, Brian Culbertson, Spyro Gyra, The Ohio Players, Najee, Jeffery Osborne, Aretha Franklin, Michael and BeBe Winans, just to name a few.
In 2007, he released his first single, “Reunited,” from his solo project, “No Time To Waste,” which charted in the top 100 on SmoothJazz.Com. Brown is also known for his invigorating single, “True Reality” from his second album “A Little Elbow Room” which was co-written by Brown, Nate Harasim, Dezie McCullers Jr. and features Darren Rahn on sax. “A Little Elbow Room” was inspired by his late father, George (Sonny) Brown. dee dedicated the release as a tribute to the man who was responsible for his emergence into the music industry. “If it wasn’t for my dad introducing me to jazz “I would never have found my true love and passion,” says dee.
Brown is a multi-talented phenomenon and is highly sought after. He is firmly committed to his craft and is definitely taking his vision and music to the top.
His latest project for 2021 is the release of his album 'Deep Secrets' which has already attracted airplay around the world with his latest single 'Tie The Knot' and featured on JazzNet247.

Dirk Powell combines deep-running roots in rural American tradition with an overarching artistic vision that speaks poignantly to the audiences of today. From learning banjo and fiddle at the feet of his grandfather in Kentucky, through founding the Louisiana Cajun group Balfa Toujours, to extensive recording and film work with such artists as Jack White, Joan Baez, T-Bone Burnett, Anthony Minghella, Loretta Lynn, and Spike Lee, Dirk has arrived at a place all his own - one where tradition, inspiration, and innovation meet without borders.

American Jazz guitarist Douglas Martin, started studying music at age 12. Growing up in the San Francisco area of California he was fortunate to be exposed to live jazz and blues from a very early age.
In his teenage years, he studied rock and blues and later classical guitar with renowned guitar instructor, Charles Ferguson (College of San Mateo, Stanford University). Later on, Douglas was fortunate to study jazz improvisation and harmony with pianist and composer Charles “Gus” Gustavson (College of San Mateo) as well as trumpeter Fred Berry (College of San Mateo, Stanford University). During his time studying at College of San Mateo and San Francisco State University he was also active in playing in two big band jazz orchestras, while also maintaining an active schedule playing in local small clubs.
In his early twenties Douglas was fortunate to become a student of renown jazz educator Warren Nunes, who is well known for having authored several books on jazz guitar and improvisation including his most famous book, “Jazz Guitar Chord Bible”.
In recent years Douglas Martin has been very active in the jazz world as well as gypsy jazz scene. In 2007 while living between Shanghai and San Francisco, he began a collaboration with gypsy guitarist from Germany, Lulo Reinhardt. That same year the two of them recorded an album titled Latin Swing Quartet. The group also included bassist Harald Becher and Australian violinist Daniel Weltlinger. The group performed in the US, Germany, China and Australia. In 2008 the group also recorded a live CD and DVD in Melbourne, Australia.
Douglas Martin performed several times in Germany with Lulo Reinhardt including gypsy festivals where he was sometimes the only “non-gypsy” guitar player. In 2007 and 2008 they performed at the Django’s Erben Festival in Koblenz, Germany, before major headlining acts such as Tchavalo Schmitt and the Rosenberg Trio.
In 2008 while performing with Lulo Reinhardt in Shanghai, Douglas also sat in with David Reinhardt (grandson of Django Reinhardt) as well as top European gypsy jazz giants, Dorado Schmitt and Samson Schmitt.
After moving back to California in 2009, Douglas formed his own group, The Avatar Ensemble, which mixed gypsy jazz with vintage swing and latin rhythms. The group performed at several festivals in the US including Djangofest in San Francisco and Seattle as well as guitars festivals such as the University of California Davis Guitar Festival in 2010.
While performing at the Seattle Djangofest in 2010, Douglas was also asked to perform with Jazz legend Howard Alden. Howard Alden is one of the leading jazz guitarists in the US who is known for having performed the music for the Woody Allen movie “Sweet And Lowdown”. At that same festival Douglas also performed with Mimi Fox, who is considered one of the top jazz guitarists in the world.
In 2010 Douglas began performing with Grammy award winning guitarist and composer, John Jorgenson. For the next three years Doug was a member of the John Jorgenson Quintet, an American gypsy jazz group performing 150 shows a year. During this time period with John Jorgenson, Doug was on tour every month playing all over the US as well as Europe every year. By being a member of JJQ, Doug was able to collaborate with well-known artists such as Richard Thompson, Tommy Emanuel, Lollo Meier, Paulus Schafer, and more. The group has performed in nearly every US state. One of Douglas’ favorite performances with JJQ included playing in New York City’s Iridium Club at 52nd St. and Broadway. The Iridium Club was owned by legendary Godfather of the electric guitar, Les Paul and is considered a sacred stage for guitarists. Doug Martin performed with JJQ in several countries in Europe including Germany, England, Scotland, Luxembourg and Italy.
In 2012 Douglas Martin moved back to China and has been in Beijing ever since. During these last several years in China Doug has been the lead guitarist for the swing band, Hot Club of Beijing. HCOB performs all over China and has won Beijing’s Best Band by Beijing City Weekend Magazine three times in 2011, 2012 and 2016. The group has performed in several of the best clubs in China including Blue Note (Beijing), Ola (Nanjing), and more. Additionally, they regularly perform at music festivals and private events all over the country.
Besides his work with Hot Club of Beijing, Douglas also collaborates with Beijing singer Marie Claude Lebel and her group Madamoiselle Et Son Orchestre.
When Douglas Martin is not working with these projects he can be found performing with his small jazz trio DM3, which performs traditional bebop jazz guitar as well as original compositions with bassist Xu Guangjun (aka ET) and Irish drummer, Fiach O’Brian.

Good Deale Bluegrass founder and multi-instrumentalist Tim Finch teams up with the sweet vocals and songwriting styles of Savannah Finch along with a superb cast of their talented musician friends. This all original album creates a unique melding of the roots of Bluegrass with Americana exemplifying an “Alt-grass” sound. The Eastman String Band mixes heartfelt originals with high energy instrumentals and soaring harmonies!
“Bluegrass is experiencing a growth spurt. What was not that long ago a very rigid musical form is now moving beyond its borders. One of the bands helping to usher in new ways of hearing traditional sounds is Tim & Savannah Finch and the Eastman String band. Their self-titled album packs lots of familiar textures into their playing. Savannah Finch’s vocals are mountain stream clear, her notes rising up through the air, cutting a path with powerful pipes that know their range and potential. Tim Finch’s time with the Good Deale
Bluegrass Band with Mike Auldridge helped further his natural abilities and talents. He brings the results to this release…” -Danny McCloskey, The Alternate Root Magazine

The Heartless Bastards' story starts in Dayton, Ohio, where Wennerstrom found the name on a multiple choice video trivia game at a bar.
As a songwriting teenager during a time when GBV and Brainiac were packing local bars and three of the Breeders were still in town, Wennerstrom used to sneak into clubs to check out the scene. "I would just see those people—my music heroes—hanging out at the bar like everyone else," she remembers. "I could see myself in them. It gave me inspiration to do my own thing."
After doing the usual business of playing local shows, the trio set out the following year on a regional tour. One of the first gigs of the trip took them to a bar in Akron, where Black Keys' drummer Patrick Carney just happened to be one of only a handful of people in the audience. This chance encounter led Wennerstrom and the Heartless Bastards to Fat Possum Records, with whom they released their debut, Stairs and Elevators, in early 2005.
The band moved on with critical praise in their back pocket, including a four-and-a-half star review from Rolling Stone, which took note that, when Wennerstrom “opens her throat on Stairs and Elevators … she sounds like she’s wailing on the shoulders of giants; her sad and angry vocals channeling all the swagger and spit of a young Robert Plant”
By whatever yardstick you care to measure, it was high time for Erika to get out of Dayton.
In true ascetic discipline, she moved to Austin, Texas in 2007 for a change of inspirational scenery and a new recording project. With the help of producer Mike McCarthy (Spoon, Trail of Dead), she assembled a group of musicians with whom she gave the songs life and uncovered yet another layer of Wennerstrom and the Heartless Bastards. Two of the new Bastards aren’t Texas ringers, but fellow Dayton brethren Dave Colvin on drums, and Jesse Ebaugh on bass, who actually played on the original demo that hooked Fat Possum, throw in one Austin native on guitar, Mark Nathan and you’ve got a new unstoppable force that “Take the stage and literally knock everybody down” – NY Times review of the Bastards SxSW record release performance.
The Decemberists’ guitarist Chris Funk said, "It's been a few years since I've had a voice on repeat in my mind. This voice seems to arrive in my ears while sound checking, often before the shows on a pre-show play list and after shows too -- the songs are just perfect and the band has found their spots behind this incredible woman. A unique and enduring artist arrived into our world once again."
The album, entitled The Mountain, (released February 2009) delivers the powerful howl that fans expect from the Heartless Bastards, but also weaves in adventure with mandolins, banjos, strings and Erika’s transcendent voice.

Since Frank Solivan left the cold climes of Alaska for the bluegrass hotbed of Washington, D.C., he’s built a reputation as a monster mandolinist — and become a major festival attraction with his band, Dirty Kitchen. Solivan, with banjoist Mike Munford, 2013 IBMA Banjo Player of the Year, award winning guitarist Chris Luquette and bassist Jeremy Middleton, simmer a bluegrass/newgrass stew from instrumental, vocal and songwriting skills so hot, they were named IBMA’s 2014 Instrumental Group of the Year.

Frank Vignola, born December 30th, 1965, is one of the most extraordinary guitarists performing before the public today. His stunning virtuosity has made him the guitarist of choice for many of the world’s top musicians, including Ringo Starr, Madonna, Donald Fagen, Wynton Marsalis, Tommy Emmanuel, the Boston Pops, the New York Pops, and guitar legend Les Paul, who named Vignola to his “Five Most Admired Guitarists List: for the Wall Street Journal." Vignola’s jaw- dropping technique explains why the New York Times deemed him “one of the brightest stars of the guitar.”
With over 1000 engagements in the last five years alone, Frank Vignola has become one of the most popular and sought after guitarists on the international music scene. His dynamic genre-spanning music has brought him to 14 countries on three continents – and still growing – performing in some of the world’s most illustrious venues, including the Sydney Opera House in Australia, Carnegie Hall, The Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, New York’s Lincoln Center and the world’s oldest indoor concert hall, Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, Italy.
Often featured on National Public Radio, Frank Vignola has also become a familiar figure on Public Television, featured previously on three popular shows, including the heavily programmed Tommy Emmanuel and Friends. His own PBS special, “Four Generations of Guitar” produced by Peter Berkow, premiered in the 2015 season as part of the 13 episode series “Music Gone Public,” where he is joined by special guests, Bucky Pizzarelli, Vinny Raniolo, Joe Craven and Tommy Emmanuel.
In March, 2017, Vignola was in a horrific ATV accident. He broke 8 bones, had collapsed lungs and internal bleeding. After 18 months of rehabilitation and four surgeries on his right arm, Vignola returned to his full schedule of touring and teaching activities. Thankfully, Vignola is back in full swing.
He has produced 25 full length video teaching courses for TrueFire.com for all levels. His online one on one private lessons and workshop courses continue to thrive with hundreds of enrolled students. His online jazz studio is thriving as Vignola continues to conduct clinics, masterclasses and workshops at music universities across the globe, most recently coaching guitar ensembles at The Juilliard School of Music in New York City.

Since picking up a guitar for the first time at the age of 11, Gijs Idema’s love for the instrument has never stopped. After taking an initial interest in pop & rock music, Gijs became interested in jazz and other improvised music, taking a particular liking to players such as Wes Montgomery, and Charlie Parker. It was at this point that Gijs decided to play and compose music for the rest of his life.
For his bachelor's degree, Gijs studied at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where he graduated with the highest honors. Shortly after his graduation, he moved to New York City, where he is currently pursuing his master's degree at the Manhattan School of Music, while regularly performing around the city.
Gijs formed his own trio, the Gijs Idema Trio, and won a variety of awards, including the Prinses Christina Jazz Concours (2014), Leidse Jazz Award (2016), and the Expression of Art Award (2017). Since their formation, the Gijs Idema Trio has played at most of the major venues and festivals in the Netherlands, in addition to playing venues in Germany, Belgium, and France. In 2017, the trio released their first album, Squares, which was recorded at Fattoria Musica in Osnabruck.
In addition to the Gijs Idema Trio, Gijs is involved in many other projects, including co-leading or sideman roles in; IKODO, Laura & Strings, Anna Serierse Quartet, NABOU and the Red Light Jazz Society. In the past, he was also part of the National Jeugd Jazz Orkest, in which he toured extensively in the Netherlands, Germany, and the UK.
Gijs' plans for 2019 include recording his next album, which will feature original compositions for his trio, as well as a string quartet.

Larry and His Flask are a five piece, high energy rock and roll band that incorporate elements of punk, gypsy jazz, folk and Americana music. Some people refer to them as “folk-punk” or “punk-grass,” but regardless of genre classification they strive to bring the party to every crowd. Their goal is to get everyone stomping, clapping, dancing, smiling and having a damn good time!
The Flask’s instrumentation is unusual and very unique for punk rock and rock & roll bands:
Jeshua Marshall – Stand up Bass, Harmonicas, Baritone Horn, Vocals
Ian Cook – Electric Guitar, Lead Vocals
Andrew Carew – Banjo, Trombone, Trumpet, Lead and Backup Vocals
Kirk Skatvold – Mandolin, Trumpet, Backup Vocals
Jamin Marshall – Stand up Drummer, Backup Vocals
Larry And His Flask have been a band for 14 years. They have slowly transitioned from a hardcore punk band to folk street performers, to the harmonious rock/party band that they are today. The band is based out of Bend, Oregon, right at the foot of Mt. Bachelor in the heart of the Pacific Northwest.
In the last few years they have chosen to take some time off the road and concentrate on other interests, but now they are back and better than ever! Larry and His Flask are in the studio recording a brand new full length album after 5 years. This will be the band’s 3rd full length album in its current musical style. The band’s independent and do it yourself attitude has taken them down a road less traveled, however, it has proven to be a very exciting and eventful one.
They will be back on the road again touring throughout 2018. Keep an eye out for them along the West Coast this Spring and across the UK and Europe this Summer.

Jack Lawrence has been called a "flatpicking powerhouse." His recordings and performances combine exciting, high spirited and innovative guitar solos with tasteful phrasing in his own inventive style. Well known as Doc Watson's partner since the early 1980's, Jack's inspired playing and smooth vocals provide listeners with performances that span musical traditions. Jack grew up in Charlotte, NC and his professional experiences provided a wealth of opportunity and associations that continue to fuel his talents today. In the 1970’s, Jack was part of The New Deal String Band and Bluegrass Alliance. In 1978, he teamed with Joe Smothers in a relaxed folk duo. Smothers and Lawrence successfully toured and recorded throughout the country in the 1970's and 80's. Through Joe, Jack met Doc and Merle Watson and he began to tour with Doc in 1983 as Merle pursued other interests. Jack played side-by-side with Doc for over 25 years and the opportunity to partner with one of his most important musical influences was infinitely rewarding. The two musicians developed a brilliant guitar partnership, capitalizing on both their strengths. Jack's talents are featured on many of Doc's recordings, including the Grammy winner "On Praying Ground." The solo project "About Time," released in 1997, showcases Jack's amazing guitar style and rich, warm vocals. In 2001, he assembled some of the friends he most admires for an exciting recording project. These sessions resulted in the April 2002 release of "I Don't Need The Whiskey Anymore" featuring Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Tony Williamson, The Del McCoury Band and, of course, his old friend and partner, Doc Watson. Jack’s most recent project, “Arthel’s Guitar,” was released in 2013 and features tunes memorializing the first generation of Bluegrass, Country and Folk musicians that inspired him to play music.

James Williamson (born October 29, 1949 in Castroville, Texas) is best known for co-writing with Iggy Pop, and playing all the guitars on 1973’s seminal Raw Power album by Iggy & the Stooges. The album’s lead track, “Search and Destroy,” has become a rite of passage for any self-respecting rocker and has been covered by Pearl Jam with Mudhoney, Def Leppard, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sid Vicious, The Dead Boys, and countless others. Commenting on Raw Power’s ferocity, Williamson has said “I was a very emotional guitar player, so I always played that way. That’s how we felt, so that was what it sounded like.”
Dropped by CBS Records, Iggy & the Stooges disbanded in February, 1974, although Williamson continued to work with Pop, off and on, throughout the 1970s. This period yielded the demo collection Kill City (1977), the infamous live album Metallic K.O. (1977), and produced a pair of Pop solo albums, New Values (1979) and Soldier (1980, pre-production). After a long break during which Williamson lived in Silicon Valley and worked as a technological developer, he reunited with Pop, in a version of the Raw Power lineup of Iggy & the Stooges, in 2009.
In 2010, alongside the other early members of The Stooges, Williamson was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Following several tours which played on multiple continents, Iggy & the Stooges released a final studio album, Ready to Die (2013), produced and co-written by Williamson. Although The Stooges played their final live dates in September 2013, it wasn’t until June of 2016 that Williamson released an official statement on behalf of the band saying that The Stooges were no more.
In 2014, Williamson released his debut solo album, Re-Licked, on his own Leopard Lady imprint. The album featured 14 tracks originally co-written by Pop and Williamson, performed and demoed between 1973 and 1975 during Williamson's initial tenure with Iggy & the Stooges. Re-Licked included a “who’s who” of underground rock vocalists guesting on individual tracks, including Alison Mossheart (The Kills), Ariel Pink, Bobby Gillespie (Primal Scream), Jello Biafra, and Mark Lanegan, among others. Williamson, alongside featured players from the album, performed live to promote the project on the popular late-night program Last Call with Carson Daly.
Since then, Williamson has written and performed on a variety of one-off singles with different artists, including Lisa Kekaula, MAIA, and his new bandmate in The Pink Hearts, Petra Haden. In the spring of 2017, he collaborated with fellow Detroit rock legend Deniz Tek on the EP, Acoustic K.O., comprised of songs from Iggy & the Stooges 1970s’ catalog.
Johnny Marr (ex-Smiths) has been one of Williamson’s most out-spoken advocates: “I’m his biggest fan. He has the technical ability of Jimmy Page without being as studious, and the swagger of Keith Richards without being as sloppy. He’s both demonic and intellectual, almost how you would imagine Darth Vader would sound if he was in a band. I’ve often been asked who my favorite guitar player is, and I always answer ‘James Williamson.’ I like different guitar players for different reasons, obviously, but when push comes to shove, James has it all in my book.”

Born in an artistic home in France, Jean began studying piano at five
and from a young age, was drawn to improvisation and composition. At
fourteen years old he picked up the guitar and became passionate about
it. Two years later, he started his formal jazz studies, studying the
guitar with Serge Merlaud, then Michel Perez and more recently, one of
the most respected guitarists in the international jazz scene, Peter
Bernstein.
Based in Paris for most of his life, he had the joy to share the stage
with many amazing musicians such as Fiona Monbet, Ibrahim Maalouf,
Armel Dupas, Karl Jannuska, and Plumes Ensemble. He played in jazz
festivals and prestigious venues such as Jazz at Saint Germain des
près, Charlie Jazz Festival, Jazz at Vannes, Pleyel, the Olympia and
the Stade de France.
At the end of 2014 Jean moved to Princeton, NJ with his wife. Inspired
by the culture shock and the surroundings of nature, he started to
compose for his first album. His debut album “The Beauty Of
Differences” featuring world-class drummer Rudy Royston and 8 time
Grammy nominated vocal artist Tierney Sutton will be released in 2018.

Since 2007, Jeff Schroeder has been both a touring and recording member of the critically acclaimed band, the Smashing Pumpkins. Growing up in Los Angeles, Jeff played in numerous bands, most notably, the Lassie Foundation. As a member of the Lassie Foundation, Jeff recorded three albums and two EPs, which combined the sonic adventures of the British shoegaze movement with the vocal harmonies of the Beach Boys. Between 2001 and 2007, he left the music industry to pursue a PhD in Comparative Literature at the University of California, Los Angeles. While in graduate school, Jeff made one last album with the Lassie Foundation, Face Your Fun (2004). In the fall of 2006, Jeff was introduced to Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin while they were in Los Angeles recording with the Smashing Pumpkins. By the spring of 2007, he was officially on board as a member of the newly reformed band and toured the world in support of Zeitgeist (2007). In the summer of 2007, the band played a series of historic concerts at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, California. These shows were captured in the concert DVD, If All Goes Wrong (2008). Beginning with the last two tracks recorded for the Teargarden by Kaleidyscope project and continuing with Oceania (2012), Monuments for an Elegy (2014), and Shiny and Oh So Bright (2018), Jeff began his tenure as part of the recording side of the Smashing Pumpkins.

In addition to working with Steely Dan since 1999, Jon Herington has released five solo recordings including his 2016 work, Adult Entertainment. Jon has also released a book of 18 songs arranged for unaccompanied guitar titled Arrangements for Guitar.
Jon took some time to elaborate on what drew him to Eastman:
"The first time I played an Eastman guitar was when I was subbing for Scott Kuney in the Broadway pit of Spamalot. He didn't want to leave his valuable L5 in the pit, and had bought an Eastman archtop to replace it there. I played it when it was brand-new, and right away it felt better and sounded better than the L5 to my ears. But the astonishing thing was that when I went back a couple of months later and played that same guitar, the difference in tone was incredible. In that short amount of time, with all the music happening in that space with eight shows a week, it had blossomed in an unbelievable way, and sounded huge. I was very impressed, obviously, and never forgot it. Years later, when I happened to be in touch with Eastman, I jumped at the chance to check out some of their instruments."

John Leonard is a British multi-instrumentalist. Having toured with various bands over a 30 year period he is now finding success touring the world with UK based folk/punk band and festival favourites Ferocious Dog.
After struggling to find the perfect mandolin for recording and live work, he was pointed towards the Eastman MD-615 by Eagle Music in the U.K. Having used this for over a year now he's found it to be ‘a true mandolin sound even with a full loud live band, which holds up to the rigours of touring the world’. He has since added to his live arsenal an electro MDO305 Mandola. Matching Eastman E6D guitars next!!

John Pisano has been formally recognized as one of the nation’s finest guitarists. He has an extremely diverse background, having emerged on the jazz scene in the mid-50′s, first recording in 1958 and 1959 with the legendary Billy Bean and a two-year stint with drummer Chico Hamilton (which at one time featured the innovative reedist Eric Dolphy). Even if his name doesn’t immediately ring a bell, odds are that you’ve heard his guitar work. Although John has occasionally stepped forward to lead his own group, for years his “comfort zone” was the background and John became an active member of the Los Angeles studio scene, adding his special touch to groups let by Buddy DeFranco, Red Norvo, Bud Shank and Benny Goodman. Additionally, John has accompanied in concert or recording some of music’s biggest names, including Peggy Lee, Tony Bennett, Burt Bacharach, Frank Sinatra, Michael Franks, Clare Fischer, Julie London, Bobby Troup, Natalie Cole, Joe Pass Barbra Streisand and Diana Krall. John is a founding member of Herb Alpert’s Tijuana Brass and obtained some solid Brazilian experience working with Sergio Mendes.
In the last several years, however, Pisano has assumed the leader’s role, releasing a series of Pablo CD’s remarkable for their beauty and musical camaraderie. “Among Friends” was the first, featuring him in duet settings with six of the instrument’s most talented players: Lee Ritenour, Phil Upchurch, Ron Affif, Dori Caymmi, the late Ted Greene, and the late Joe Pass, with whom John had worked extensively for three decades and released more than a dozen albums together (Pass died on May 23, 1994). Pass was also heard on “Duets”, which focused on empathic guitar conversations recorded at a 1991 Pisano/Pass session.
His subsequent album, the Pablo release, “Conversation Pieces”, includes wonderfully varied material from 1994 and ’95 recordings with, once again, Lee Ritenour, Phil Upchurch, Ted Greene, and Dori Caymmi, as well as Joe Diorio and Gene Bertoncini. Eric Miller, who was Pass’s producer in the guitarist’s final years, has also produced all of Pisano’s dates for the label. Most recently, John was featured on Natalie Cole’s album, entitled “Ask A Women Who Knows” and Diana Krall’s platinum recording “The Look Of Love” and the Grammy winning “Live In Paris” available both as a CD and a DVD.
John hosts (and performs at)”John Pisano’s Guitar Night” held Tuesdays at the Sherman Oaks, California club Spazio. This weekly series, which will celebrate its 6th anniversary on September 23, 2003, features a wide range of guitarists and attracts the elite of the L.A. jazz scene. Additionally, John has worked several times at the popular Zinc Bar in lower Manhattan and will be performing this October (2003) at Birdland.
John joined ‘The Great Guitarists’ series with the likes of Gene Bertoncini, Philip Catherine, Herb Ellis and Mundell Lowe on tours of Germany and Italy where they performed to sell-out crowds.
John is the current spokesman and chief endorser for Eastman Guitars and has developed the “John Pisano” Signature Model for Eastman. For nearly 40 years, John Pisano’s playing has provided a model for improvisational creativity, technical excellence, and a seamless blend of jazz and latin elements.
Today, John and his lovely vocalist wife, Jeanne perform together regularly, and are known as “The Flying Pisanos”. Both together and individually, John continues to perform throughout the nation and around the world with today’s biggest musical luminaries.

"One of the most original and dignified talents to emerge in Australian Entertainment in a long time. She manages to be both imperial yet vulnerable." - Paul Sheehan, Sydney morning Herald.
With two successful albums, a national tour and of course nationwide exposure under her belt, Karen Lee Andrews (formerly 'Ms Murphy') is proud to debut her fresh new EP.
Capitalizing on her powerhouse voice and soulful sound, the new EP mines the rich blues and soul at the heart of her musical heritage.
"The sound is new, yet familiar", says Karen Lee Andrews, who has focused on reconnecting with her roots since stepping away from touring in 2015. Picking up her guitar in the Summer of 2016 was the catalyst for this fresh new sound.
This new genre-defining EP, 'Far from Paradise' is by turns direct, nuanced and open, to keep the listener fully engaged. The roots of the sound are gritty guitar, glowing valves, lush tremolo and deep reverb in a distinctively fluid expression. This unique sound carries the mood and tones of the EP expressed in rich, warm vocals.

TV on the Radio has been called "one of the most compelling American rock and roll stories of the modern age" (BBC), “the most innovative band on the planet” (AV Club) and simply "superb" (Rolling Stone), proving themselves to be one of the most influential bands of the decade. The band consistently confounds expectations while managing to balance respect from critics and peers alike. Their albums grace national ‘best of's’ and ‘year-end’ lists, including their latest record Seeds (Harvest), topping New York Time's Jon Pareles' Best Albums of 2014 list. Their live show has been dubbed, "sexy nerdiness letting go in a controlled blast of unleashed energy” (The Boston Globe).
They’re influential, in their prime, they’re TV on the Radio, and they’ve established themselves as defining musicians of this generation. Seeds serves as another step in continuing to heed their reputation as “the most vital, current band in America” (Associated Press).
Prior to Seeds, TV On The Radio's 2011 Nine Types of Light, was deemed "pure heaven" by the cherubs at Rolling Stone, earning the band a Grammy® nomination. Dear Science was voted #1 by fans in Pitchfork's Reader's Poll and the #1 album in the Village Voice's Pazz and Jop poll, composed of reviews by more than 800 critics. Following the love the records received, the band went on to grace the stages of Saturday Night Live and The Colbert Report. Earlier records, Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes and Return To Cookie Mountain stole the hearts of fans and critics alike just the same, winning the Shortlist Music Prize and Spin's Album of the Year respectively.
