Andrew Sheron is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter making a splash in the New York music scene with his unique blend of pop, rock, folk and jazz, mixed with influences as close to home as bluegrass and as far reaching as traditional Tuvan music.
Among his many instruments of choice, the electric bass was certainly his first love, and in the Fall of 2009 he was recognized by Victor Bailey (Weather Report) as the “Future of the bass” while participating with the veteran bassist in a tribute to the late great Jaco Pastorius at the Iridium Jazz Club.
As the Mandolinist/Producer for Balto (http://baltoamerica.com) he has received much praise for his delicate yet intricate playing:
“There’s a lot hanging on that mandolin. My hopes. My dreams. My tears.” (http://www.yrsosquare.com/2011/02/balto.html)
He is currently working on his debut album of all original material.
