The Greg Diamond Band is a collective of emerging NYC artists that interprets Latin-infused contemporary jazz. Diamond puts forth a diverse array of original music that’s fresh, energetic, innovative, and widely appealing.
Greg and his band have headlined at venues such as: The Blue Note Jazz Club, Iridium Jazz Club, Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, Smalls Jazz Club, Rose Theater (Jazz at Lincoln Center), Nublu, The Bar Next Door, The Knitting Factory, and many others. Greg and his band were invited as international guests to perform at The Barranquijazz Festival (2009 & 2011), The Teatro Libre Jazz Festival (2011), The Jazz al Parque Festival (2009), The Universidad de Los Andes Jazz Festival (2011), The 30th Annual Municipal Book Fair in Salamanca, Spain (2010), and the First Annual Nublu Jazz Festival in New York City (2009). In 2007, he performed before George Benson as a semi-finalist at the Gibson International Jazz Guitar Competition hosted by the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.
Diamond has shared the stage with such notables as: Seamus Blake, Antonio Hart, Emilio Solla, Henry Cole, Rolando Briceño, Michael Philip Mossman, Don Friedman, Asha Puthli, and many others.
Greg’s debut “Dançando Com Ale” (Chasm), featuring renown tenor saxophonist Seamus Blake, was released in November of 2008. Greg’s compositions and arrangements embrace South American and North American traditions with a distinct contemporary sound.
